BEYOND THE STAGE
SPECIAL EVENTS

We’re always looking for ways to make your time at the theatre an experience. Here’s what we have planned for A Streetcar Named Desire.

Jazzy Fridays
Nothing says New Orleans like live jazz! Join the cast after every Friday show for live jazz from our friends at Broward College plus complimentary libations (included with your ticket purchase). Occurring July 19, 26, and August 2.

Saturday Spirits
Ever wonder what a Streetcar themed cocktail would be like? Wonder no more. Enjoy Blanche’s Desire, Stanley’s Shot, Stella’s Sidecar, or Mitch’s Mocktail with the cast after every Saturday show on July 13, 20, 27, and August 4.

Sunday Talkbacks
For those looking to go a little deeper on the themes and history of the play and step into New City Players’ theatre-making process. Okay fine: this one is for the nerds! Join the cast and creative team for an interactive and engaging talkback after every Sunday show. July 14, 21, 28, and August 4.

GENERAL ARRIVAL & THEATER INFORMATION

  1. We always recommend arriving at least 15 minutes early to get parked and settled in your seat before the show begins. Island City Stage has concessions available and complimentary wine ($5 suggested donation) before the show.

  2. Bring a sweater or light jacket to the theatre just in case, because as much as we’d like to, we cannot control the temperature to suit everyone.

PARKING

We know parking can be challenging in Wilton Manors. However, if you take a few tips from us you should have no problems!

The entire parking lot from The Foundry to Emerald Senior Care is available for New City Players Patrons.

Also, the parking behind the theatre is for NCP patrons as well. The Electrical Company directly behind the theatre is fine with parking in their lot during evening performances (not Saturday matinees).

Also parking across the street in the Doggy Day Care and the Animal Clinic is open for NCP parking. If you eat at or have reservations at Union Kitchen and Bar you can park in their lot during the performances.

A short walk to the parking lot gate at the back of the Union Kitchen and Bar leads to a city parking lot across the street.  There are also metered parking areas located across the street from the theatre.

PLEASE BE AWARE: The parking lot directly across the street from the front door of the theater is off limits for parking and violators may be towed.

Guests with accessibility questions in regards to these policies can call the Box Office at 954.376.6114 or email boxoffice@newcityplayers.org.

ACCESSIBILITY

Our facilities feature ADA-approved signage and handrails. We have an ADA approved restroom located to the back of the theatre near the water fountains. Patrons with limited mobility may be dropped off in front of the Theater. Please call ahead for staff assistance. 954-376-6114.
