This eclectic 75 minutes of theatre will feature 5 of the best new plays by South Florida playwrights curated from our NCPLab community and celebrating the creativity, diversity, and culture of our greater Fort Lauderdale region. This project will amplify a diversity of voices from our community who have been working off of Broward-themed writing prompts at our monthly NCPLab event.

NCPLab is where playwrights and actors create and connect. Write a 10 minute or less play about characters in transit (physically, emotionally, professionally, socially). Who is staying, who is passing through, who is just starting to realize they’re lost?

The Broward County Film Society and New City Players presents Christopher Guests’ outrageous mockumentary Waiting for Guffman. The evening starts with light refreshments at 6pm followed by the film at 7pm. After the film, join us for a maybe-not-so-serious panel discussion: “We’re Not in Blaine, Missouri Anymore“. Corky had his vision. We have ours. Let’s talk about what making theatre in our community actually looks like.
